Motivation Monday - Be quick or be dead.
Be quick or be dead.
If you are a small company, like a one person show, you have a great advantage over a larger corporation. They may have deeper pockets but you can get things done quicker than they can. Make your decision making time short, you can move faster than your competition.
Avoid paralysis by analysis. Make a decision and take action. The Art of War states that the battle field is the board room. Look, commit, and take action.
Keep market research short. With the tools available today, finding out what your customers want shouldn’t take too long. Ask a question on Twitter, send an email out to your mailing list, send a bulletin on Myspace, use a widget on Facebook, make a video asking a question and send it to a few video hosting sites like Youtube, Revver, or Magnify.
Get help. Bloggers are your friends. Get to know them. This is great for your networking and marketing. If you can get the right people to write about what you are doing, without having it sound forced, your idea can spread and people will come to see what you are doing.
Make mistakes. If you think you need to be perfect you are done. Just go home. It’s not a question of if you make a mistake, it’s what you do when you make the mistake. Business is fluid, not static. Get excited about new ideas, new strategies, new technology, and try them. Will they work? There’s only one way to find out. For ever five ideas you implement, four will flop.
What gets you motivated on Monday?
